Weekly UPDATE 7-7-05

Dear family, friends, and fellow walkers,
Last week has once again been a very physical week for Jeff.  It seems that not only is he fighting a sinus infection, but he also is having pain with toes, an ankle, a knee, and lower back.  But the good part is he only has 35 miles to go!!!
Monday, July 4th, even with the physical challenges Jeff was able to climb Mt. Elbert today!  He had about 20 folks that came out to be encouragers and walkers with him.  Thank you so much.  The rest of the week will be much shorter distances and Friday, the 8th will be a day off.  I, along with the rest of my family, will be leaving on Wednesday to meet up with Jeff.  The Lakewood Church of Christ is hosting a fundraising dinner on Saturday at 4:30 and then Sunday brings a whole day of activities with the afternoon bringing in the last 12 miles as we all hike with Jeff to downtown Denver from the church.  We are all so proud of Jeff and thankful for the many people who have helped brought this together.  Next week I will bring another update about all these events plus some pictures.  Oh, and Walker loved the mountain.  Jeff said he ran smoke around him.  He would run up and then down and then up and then down.  He had a blast.
